MCS refers to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme. It is a requirement of the Domestic RHI scheme that all heating systems are certified by MCS. MCS is an internationally recognised quality assurance scheme supported by the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS), formerly known as the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC). MCS certifies both products and installation companies to help ensure that Microgeneration products are installed to a high standard. Working with industry we define, maintain and improve quality – certifying products and installers so people can have confidence in the low-carbon technology they invest in. From solar and wind, to heat pumps, biomass and battery storage, we want to inspire a new generation of home-grown energy, fit for the needs of every UK home and community.

TrustMark is the Government Endorsed Quality Scheme that covers work a consumer chooses to have carried out in or around their home. TrustMark is driven by several factors, including helping consumers make energy efficiency improvements to their homes and enhancing the protection they can depend on when making such decisions. RECC sets out high consumer protection standards for businesses who are selling or leasing renewable energy generation systems to domestic consumers. RECC is approved by Chartered Trading Standards Institute as part of the Consumer Codes Approval Scheme and is also a TrustMark Scheme Operator.

IWA provides the most trusted home improvement Deposit and Guarantee Insurance services in the industry. Independent Warranty is authorised by the FCA and listed in the Financial Services register under 305650. The Financial Services Register can be accessed through www.fca.org.uk.

The codes approval scheme is open to any eligible code of practice regardless of whether or not there are other code sponsors already operating in that sector. The codes approval scheme is committed to promoting codes of practice that meet our core criteria and have obtained CTSI approval.
